Well, stock PC software pretty much assumes COM1 is 3E8 irq 4, COM2 is 2E8
irq3.
Theres no real way I know of for a PCI device to force one of these
assumptions.
Luckily, most software -will- allow you arbitrary port and irq assignments on
com3 and above, trouble is, I don't think windows95 or NT will autoconfigure a
com port on a PCI device (of course, I could easily be wrong about this!)
