Re: NATOMA 440FX PCI CHIPSET - WINDOWS NT AND AMCC S5933

How about some more info on Question 1:
     1) Are you reading or writing (and what PCI command is being used)?
     2) What are the burst lengths you are using?
     3) What does the cpu to main memory traffic look like?

hello PCI experts,

for the moment we experiment the AMMC S5933 controller PCI bus
in bus mastering mode with the Triton 430FX chip set: data transfer
between the DRAM of the PC and the S5933 chip with use of the
AMMC developer's kit to which we added our own breadboard
daughter card.
Transfer rate: up to 115MByte/s

QUESTION 1:
We move to a new Natoma 440FX based Pentium Pro PC
motherboard = the transfer rate falls dramatically.
Does anyone may give us informations on the topic?

QUESTION 2:
The AMCC developer's toolkit is provided with DOS software
routines. We used them for our first experimentations.
We intend now to test under Windows NT.
Is anyone aware of existing S5933 driver under Windows NT?

Best regards
