HP announces new PCI Analyzer & Exerciser
Hewlett Packard announces the HP E2920 computer verification tools, PCI
series. It is a family of hardware and software tools for companies
developing chips, add-in cards and systems based on the PCI bus.
It provides tools for bring-up, debug and in-system validation of
PCI devices and systems.
The HP E2920 family provides a low cost, in-system programmable PCI
exerciser & analyzer card and graphical user interfaces for interactive
bring-up and debug applications:
* HP E2925A 33 MHz, 32 bit PCI Exerciser & Analyzer
* HP E2970A PCI Analyzer Graphical User Interface (Windows 95/NT)
* HP E2971A PCI Exerciser Graphical User Interface (Windows 95/NT)

Following is a summary of the key features of the HP E2925A:
* programmable 32 bit, 33 MHz PCI Master & Target, with low & high level
control of protocol and traffic behaviour
* on-board 32k state PCI logic analyzer with PCI-oriented triggering and
storage qualification
* integrated on a single, short PCI card.
* PCI protocol monitor checks for protocol violations in real-time
* programmable PCI configuration space and expansion EEPROM
* programmable interrupt generator
* programming through "C" programming library or command line interface
* on-board CPU and built-in test functions, such as write, read & compare
guarantee asynchronous stress and data integrity test
* 3.3V and 5V compatible
* CPU port interface and sideband I/O for controlling & monitoring registers
and signals beyond PCI
* fully programmable via PCI from the system under test, or via RS232 or
bi-directional Centronics (optional) for external control
* Windows 95/NT User Interfaces E2970/71A (optional)
