Hi There,
I have a CardBus PM question which one of you might be able to answer
although this is not entirely the right forum.
Due to the OnNow initiative CardBus devices must comply to the
definition of the new powerstates and register layout for handling the
power control, although CardBus has already a powerful built-in
CLKRUN# protocol for power save.
The CLKRUN protocol should be used for wakeup event in D1,D2 state
where power is still applied on the CardBus, as far as I have
understood. Is this right?
I'm a little confused how to signal wakeup events from the D3 state.
The PCI PM spec. uses INTA for wake-up (and rumors states a new wakeup
pin, which may address the problem with aux. power supplies in D3
state). However, Cardbus has already a pin for indication of 'status
change' called STSCHG. Should this be used for wakeup in powerstate D3
or should the INTA pin be used or is this 'to be defined'.
As fas as I have understood the CardBus device must implement the new
PM PCI registers as a normal PCI device. Is that right???
All answers will be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Niels Thybo Johansen
