I've had quite good luck using the Future Plus PCI bus extender/bus analyzer
kits with various HP logic analyzers. These are PCI extender card with headers
that interface directly to HP 16xx or 165xx family logic analyzer and software
for said analyzers that 'disassembles' PCI cycles making tracing bus timing,
protocol, and software interface problems a breeze. I've used it with 1660A,
16550B, and 1660C analyzers, and liked the 1660C the best.
I believe I've used both the FP16P32E and the FP16P64. The 'p64 is a 64 bit
PCI interface without the extender card capability, while the p32E is the 32bit
PCI interface WITH the extender card...
HP sells the FuturePlus stuff themselves. HP calls these the FSI-60006 and
FSI-60005 respectively.
