Subject: PCI bus power management specification
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To all PCI developers:
As some of you know, the PCI SIG has had an active workgroup creating
a power management specification for the PCI Bus. This workgroup under
the leadership of Gary Solomon of Intel in conjunction with Texas
Instruments, IBM, Compaq, Adaptec, Gateway and other PCI SIG member
companies has completed a Draft version of the proposed power
management specification. The "PCI Bus Power Management Interface
Specification", although not part of ACPI, is a related document
supporting OS Directed Power Management and is endorsed by the ACPI
member companies.
This draft is being informally distributed before the formal PCI SIG
membership review, because this is an important new capability, for
the PCI architecture, that should have industry wide exposure. The SIG
Power Management Workgroup invites your review and comment on this
specification.
Draft revision 0.93 of the specification is available for download
from the PCI SIG webpage (http://www.pcisig.com) in Acrobat Reader
format. You may make comments to this reflector or directly to Gary,
the workgroup chairman at Gary_Solomon@ccm.jf.intel.com
