Apparently the Intel PIIX3 PCI -> ISA, IDE, Xcelerator chip has problems
with it's support of it's dual USB port. When the USB port is enabled, it
uses PCI INTD for interrupt signaling. However, when enabled it also
prevents anyone else from using INTD; it's not sharing the interrupt! How
un-PCI-like. So, I'm wondering:
1. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so, have they discovered a
work-around?
2. Is anyone out there aware of a part that implements a USB root hub and
provides two USB connections?
3. Has anyone heard if/when Intel is going to fix this PIIX3 bug?
Many thanks,
Terry Trausch
