Apparently we got some bad information regarding the USB root hub function
with Intel's PIIX3 chip. I have confirmation from 2 sources at Intel
stating that when the USB function is enabled, the PCI interrupt D (INTD#)
is still sharable!
My apologies to those who were misled and my thanks to those who responded.
