With the archiving/indexing software I mentioned, it's more like about
a day's worth of effort (but who has a day to kill, right :-) ).  A
little more if they need to compile the sources for their particular
platform.  My list is archived on a linux machine up in Chicago
somewhere, but any Unix host would suffice.

Anyway, it does require somebody with sysadmin priveliges on their
machine so they can mess around with the /etc/alias file (to redirect
mail for the archiver to the archiver program).  They'll need the
disk space and, of course, a web server running.  I'm not sure what
you mean by a "dedicated web server."

So, yes, it would require some effort, and there is maintenance
involved, but I believe it would be worthwhile.  Like I indicated
earlier, I would do it, but my home machine ain't on the net (yet).
