i960RP and programming flash

This is an i960RP specific question...
Has anybody out there succesfully programmed 8bit wide flash memory
from a host on the Primary PCI bus while the processor is held reset
in Mode 0? The low order address bits are not reflecting the address
and the WIDTH signals are reflecting 32bit bus behavior in spite of
my best efforts.
