I talked to NetChip people at the PCI+ Show last week in Santa Clara Convention
Center. There are not many solutions available on the market yet, and the
NetChip Net2888 and Intel 8x930 are the only two solutions.
>From the architecture point of view, these two chips are fundamentally
different. The 8x930 is more of an "8051 Microcontroller" with an integrated USB
interface, whereas the Net2888 is a quick "USB hook" to a generic CPU bus.
>Tom;
> You might want to look into the NET2888 by NetChip Technology. It is
>a full speed interface controller that supports connection to any generic
>CPU. The NET2888 is also able to handle full bandwith Isochronous (1023 bytes
>per frame) and Bulk transfers.
