A software question

Hi jrp,

I am taking the liberty to write this mail directly to u, (and not thru
the pci-sig,) becos, mostly I have seen u replying to software questions
and also that this is not really a generic question.
If u feel that I shud post my questions only to pci-sig, Pls. let me
know, I will rephrase my question and post it....

I understand from ur postings that u are a PC multimedia device driver
guy. So, I will come to the point.

An ISA audio card with wave & MPU401, when installed has a device node
for each of these devices. On a PCI audio card with wave & MPU401, it
is a 'Multi-media controller' device, and has only one device node when
installed under Win95. Right now I have a .drv, .vxd combination for
both wave & MPU401... But this is not workable when I want to test both
the wave & MPU funtions, becos of the above mentioned situation. I
cannot make one as a child node of the other, as I want either to be
independent of the other. So, in my opinion and knowledge, I think the
solution is to have a common Vxd.
The drivers are not yet WDM.
Do u have any thoughts on the above? I would like to discuss.

Pls. consider this confidential information.

Thank you very much for your time.

Have a good day
