Hello,
I work in a small research lab in the University of Michigan Physics
Department. Currently we are involved with the CDF high energy physics
experiments at Fermilab in Illinois.
Part of our research requires us to build a custom board that must
include a PCI to IDE controller. The preferred chip was made by CMD
Technology in Irvine California, but unfortunately they discontinued
this product about a year ago. The closest (and only) suitable
replacement I have been able to find is the Intel S82092AA PCI TO
PCMICA/ENHANCED IDE CONTROLLER. Unfortunately this too has been
discontinued as of 10-96, which will become a problem if we need more in
the future.
I am interested in finding a company that currently makes a PCI to IDE
Controller that is comperable to CMD Technology's PCI0646 BUS MASTER DMA
PCI TO IDE CONTROLLER. I would appreciate any suggestions of where to
look.
Thank you,
Conrad J. DeWitte
