Class question
Dear PCISIG mailing list members,
I am writing a device driver for a new PCI board produced by a 3rd party
board mfg.
It has a vendor id and a device id from the board mfg.
Currently, the BaseClass is 'FF' and SubClass is 0.
I would like for the board to announce itself at boot time more correctly
that 'Unknown PCI Device'.
1) Does anyone know if there is a BaseClass id appropriate to hardware
cryptographic boards?
Less appropriate to this group but same line of questioning...
I have an NT4 driver for the board working. I want to port the code to WDM
(Win2k/98) but none of the existing device classes seem appropriate (maybe
system?). This is about the same question, because it installs itself as
'Unknown Device' next to a big yellow question mark.
2) Does anyone know if there is a 98/2000 class appropriate to hardware
cryptographic modules?
Thanks,
Greg Hering
