Pentium II and III characteristics
One of my customers informed me that the Pentium II and Pentium III
processor can transmit branch messages on the processor bus. I understand
that this bus is NOT the PCI bus. The intriguing thing about these branch
messages is that the Host/PCI bridge apparently is the target. What I don't
know is whether the bridge can pass these messages to the PCI bus. It's not
clear why it would, but I don't have any description of what really happens
to these message.
Is there anyone out there that can shine some more light on this for me?
Thanks!
