Re: PCI 2.1 spec

Ben,

As you likely have found out by now, you will need to provide 3.3V power on
your board by converting the 5 V to 3.3 V with a DC/DC converter.

I don't mean to be using the mail list to solicit business, but I thought I
might be able to help you out. First let me mention that there are a number
of DC/DC converters that will give you a full Amp of 3.3V current from
major suppliers such as Power Trends. I was going to use their part for my
board. But I was very, very limited on space. Their unit is 1 inch square.

So I ended up designing my own power module which is half that size, 1.1" x
0.4" x 0.4" and provides up to 1.5 Amps at 3.3V. It has a shutdown input
and is surface mountable. I am using this module on a PC/104 DSP board and
will be using it on other boards in the future.

If you would be interested in using this power module for one of your
designs please contact me and I will be happy to discuss it with you.
