Lock Transactions !!

Hi PCI Experts,

I was just wondering that are the Lock transactions always a single DWORD transactions.
Can they ever be burst transactions.
If yes, in what case ?

As mentioned in specs PCI 2.2, Lock starts with a memory read to a memory semaphore. And then is followed by a write to update the semaphore (Read Modify Write operation).
But nowhere they have specifically mentioned that LOCK would be a DWORD transaction.

Has any body worked on Bridges supporting Lock, or have any clue to this peice of specs !!
