Can Low Profile PCI Cards be 64-bit?
In the Low Profile PCI ECN, the two card drawings titles include the
words: (3.3V, 32-bit), and there are no references to a 64-bit card,
although the maximum length for a MD2 card allows for the 64-bit
connector tab. There are also no drawings of universal cards, although
the Press Release implies that they can be used.
My questions:
1. Is there anything restricting an MD2 card from being 64-bit?
2. Why are there no drawings for 64-bit and universal cards in the ECN?
3. Are Low Profile PCI systems 3.3 V signalling ONLY (as implied by the
press release)?
4. Will Low Profile PCI system vendors support maximum length MD2 cards
in their boxes (even for 32-bit slots)?
(Obviously, this is system dependent -- I'm looking for some system
vendors to respond with information about their particular boxes.)
Thank you,
