Subsystem Vendor ID

FYI, here is the response that I got from the PCI chip manufacturer:

"The CL-PD6729 does not support the subsystem vendor ID field, and per the
PCI specification the 6729 returns a value of 00000000h when the subsystem
vendor ID field is read because it is an unimplemented register in the
device. It may be possible to implement the subsystem vendor ID outside of
the 6729, but I don't know of any customers who have done so."

I think we have to find another way to put our signature into this card.
In terms of why we wanted use this chip, Texas Ins. PCI PC-Card controllers
are more expensive and don't have the basic features we need. And it's kind
of too late to switch to another chip.
