Re: Where to buy PCI-PCI bridge add-in cards? <PCI Bridge Evaluation and Test Boards>
I think the PCI-to-PCI bridge add-in cards you are talking about are PCI
bridge chip evaluation and test boards.
I have seen 4 manufactures with these boards.
Most often and most popular are the ones from Intel formerly DEC. (They've
made about a dozen different models, but only 3 or 4 are available. The new
transparent bridge one may not be out yet.) I've used these the most. I
also used the TI board which works well. I seen both the Hint and IBM bridge
boards but they may not be as easy to get.
The Intel/DEC EB154 PCI Bridge Evaluation kits are sold by Wyle.
www.wyle.com
Wyle PN# 21A52-04, 21A54-02 and PN# 21A54-03
(Two for 21154 64-bit bridge devices and One for 21154 32-bit bridge board.)
To figure out which one you want see:
http://developer.intel.com/design/bridge/linecard
Wyle Part
Number Manufacturer Price
21A52-04 Intel $595
21A54-02 Intel $595
21A54-03 Intel $595
T.I has a board too, but you need to contact them for ordering information.
See URL:
http://focus.ti.com/docs/tool/toolfolder.jhtml?PartNumber=PCI2250EVM
Which has a little information on the bridge but not too much on the board.
Tool Folder: P2250EVM KIT-MSDS
Tool Folder: P2031EVM KIT-MSDS
Tool Folder: PCI2050EVM KIT MSDS
Tool Folder: P2040EVM KIT-MSDS
I hope this is closer to the definitive answer on PCI bridge evaluation and
test boards.
Cheers,
Cary
