Information on Ethernet PHY's

I have been looking for several days now for info on the latest PHY's to
use in
my network card design, but have had only moderate success.  Does anyone
know if
there is a good source for this (i.e. manufacturers, product briefs, etc),
or do
I just keep trying to find companies by using general search  engines?

My main problem here is that I need a part that will let me design a dual port
card (TP and Fiber) using a single PHY with some sort of software
configuration
variable that decides which port is active.  Any ideas would be greatly
appreciated.
