Hi, Thomas!

Check out www.xilinx.com/ipcenter, and use the search engine.
Xilinx has a free reference design (with limited performance and flexibility),
and a couple of AllianceCore partners providing FPGA-IP for DRAM control
(listed under processor peripherals). Be sure to verify that the solution
fits in and meets you requirements before purchase. Most IP vendors
can set up an evaluation arrangement.

I would recommend you to check the reference design and the IP-Cores
out before doing it on your own. Many of the DRAM vendors, among them
Micron, have useful models for simulation available on their websites.

Yes there is an archive. Go to the PCI-SIG homepage (www.pcisig.com). On
the menu on the left, choose Tech-Support, then PCI Reflector Archives.

Or go directly to www.pcisig.com/reflector/maillist.html (supposedly in
chronological order) or www.pcisig.com/reflector/threads.html (arranged by
subject).

There seems to be no search engine. It may take some hunting to find what
you are looking for.

And it would really be nice if it was searchable! In it's current
incarnation, I have not been able to figure out a way to really make use
of the archives. And unfortunately, they do not appear to be indexed by
the search engines like google or altavista.

Anyone out there work with or have worked with any PCI-Gigabit Ethernet
Chipsets? I need to implement a solution, but am shocked at the prices of
the chipsets I've found. (Which explains why the darn 10/100/1000bT NIC
cards are so outrageously high...) Our product cannot tolerate the prices
on the devices we have found so far. Any one know who has the best
bang-for-the-buck?

(Please CC any responses to marc@powerlogix.com)

 Thanks!
