Implementing a PCI bus using FPGA logic

I am doing a report for a Microcomputer Architecture class on using FPGA
for the implementation of a PCI bus. I have a lot of information explaining
 what a PCI bus is, an interconnection between peripheral card and the microprocessor. I can not find anything that gives specifics, such as bus
layout,
signals, standards, etc.  and how the FPGA would be used to perform this task. Any input would be helpful.
