MSI and VPD

Hello,
Has anyone out there incorporated Message Signal Interrupts and/or Vital
Product Data in PCI ? Would it be a sound idea to support MSI without
having a dedicated interrupt pin ? Any references on VPD would be highly
appreciated, since I find the specs confusing. If I support a
multifunction device, and am to incorporate interrupt support for each
function, then can each function simply ask for it's own MSI address and
data ?
