Ref Design

We are starting with Ref Design for the Applications board for our new
ASIC switcher - router chip.  Main bus is PCI 32 @ 33MHz (with 32 @
66MHz capability).  Total ASIC throughput is around 5 Gbit.  Marketing
decision is to go with Power PC.  Evaluation board we are using is with
755 microprocessor.  We were planning to use 8240 as our ref design
microprocessor, but Motorola is telling us that we will be much slower
in that case.

Any experience to share?
