If you go to http://www.pcisig.com/developers/docs/index.php3 and search for a link titled "PCI IDE Documents", you'll get a pair of
documents that described an industry standard PCI IDE controller interface. I don't believe it ever became any formal committee
standard (PCI or ATA), but the interface was widely supported a couple of years ago and I assume still is.
