Mini-PCI modem
Hi all,
on my new model (which is something like a notebook with slots) I have
some non-standard PCI slots. That is, electrically they are PCI, the
connectors are proprietary, 100-pin 0.8mm pitch with nuclear instrumentation
supply voltages and some other additional stuff.
Initially (while I designed the system) I thought I would use a PCI <-> cardbus
bridge chip and thus access some PCC (PCMCIA) modem. While I still can
do that, I want to investigate if connecting a mini-PCI modem would not
be easier. Last time I checked the PCI-SIG page, the mini-PCI spec was
still secret, so I don't even know if such a card would physically fit
in a NuPCI slot space (the NuPCI card size is 54 x 108mm ).
Could anyone suggest a solution? This is not likely to exceed 100s /year,
so it has to be available in small quantities; and I'll need
info how to gain access to the AT commands or whatever the lowest level
on such a modem is.
Thanks in advance,
Dimiter
P.S. You can see what the device I am talking about looks like at:
