There is a subcommittee working on an ECR to adopt PCI-X in CompactPCI.
This effort is headed by Dick Somes, CTO of PICMG. In addition, Tundra
Semiconductor will be coming out with a P2P bridge (Tsi320) that supports
PCI-X protocol. Hence, you can potentially implement CompactPCI board now
and later migrate to "CompactPCI-X" without modifying the hardware.
