RE: 25MHz PCI Interface

If you don't need to go all the way to 2.75 MHz, a cheaper and more
available option is getting a motherboard that's designed for overclockers.
Usually, these are also quite capable of *under*clocking. I've been using an
Abit SA6R, which can adjust PCI down to 15 MHz in 0.25 MHz steps (the manual
indicates that even 12.5 MHz should be reachable, but I can't find such a
setting in the BIOS setup.....). Available at you local outlet at ~$100.

But I don't think the original poster had and any problems of reaching a
lower frequency, just wanted to know the consequences.

I just saw this in EDN Magazine yesterday.

The "HiNT SlowPCI Extender" from the DiNI Group (www.dinigroup.com) is a
64-bit PCI extender with a bridge that lets you slow the clock as low as
2.75 MHz.
