PCI Retry
The PCI 2.2 Spec states that a target terminated retry cycle
must be repeated by the master until it completes.
PCI 2.2 spec p60
"A master which is target terminated with Retry must unconditionally
repeat the same request until it completes;..."
How would one recognize if there is a broken device that keeps
issueing retries?
What would be the appropriate action to take if one could recognize
this: ignore the device, reset the PCI bus or just hit the bit
red power button?
Are there any devices that might issue a lot of retries in
normal operation?
What is the maximum number one might see for a particular transaction?
Thanks
