RE: 21154BC vs. 21154BE DEC/Intel Bridge
I've seen some strange issues with various revisions of this part, including
boundary scan problems. You might want to check out HINT's pin-compatible
replacement/upgrade - the HB2. See www.hintcorp.com (although they have a
foolish no-datasheets-on-our-website policy). There's an eval board for it,
I believe.
They also do an enhanced version called the HB6 which needs extra pins (but
one footprint can take either). This does non-transparent (like the 21554),
universal (like the Force Sentinel ASIC) etc.
