PCI-X Compatibility

We are thinking of using a vendor's ASIC which has a PCI-X interface.   The
ASIC is a .18uM process with a core voltage of 1.8 volts and I/O voltage of
3.3 volts.    Our product has to be backwards compatible with some legacy
equipment that uses a 5 volt signaling environment.   My question is, can a
PCI-X interface be used on a 5 volt PCI 33Mhz/32 bit bus or is PCI-X only
compatible with a 3.3 volt signaling environment?
