PCI Express Specifications and ECNs for Review

PCI-SIG® Member benefits include the ability to influence the direction of PCI I/O Technology, review draft specifications, and participate in the ECR/ECN process. Please check this page regularly for new material available for member review.

Accelerator Class Code ECN

THIS IS A DRAFT SPECIFICATION ONLY AND, AS SUCH, IS SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVISION AND REVIEW WITHOUT NOTICE. THIS DRAFT SPECIFICATION IS PROVIDED TO YOU FOR REVIEW PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON FOR DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING PURPOSES.

This document defines a new base class for processing accelerators. Devices can use the new base class to reflect their function and enable firmware and software to apply different actions compared to those applied to existing classes.

The review period for the Accelerator Class Code ECN will end at 5 p.m. (PT) on Thursday, March 1, 2012. Any feedback should be sent to administration@pcisig.com.

PCIe 2.0 Mini Card Electromechanical Specification Revision 0.9

THIS IS A DRAFT SPECIFICATION ONLY AND, AS SUCH, IS SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVISION AND REVIEW WITHOUT NOTICE. THIS DRAFT SPECIFICATION IS PROVIDED TO YOU FOR REVIEW PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON FOR DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING PURPOSES.

This specification defines an implementation for small form factor PCI Express cards. The specification uses a qualified sub-set of the same signal protocol, electrical definitions, and configuration definitions as the PCI Express Base Specification, Revision 2.0. Where this specification does not explicitly define PCI Express characteristics, the PCI Express Base Specification governs. The primary differences between a PCI Express add-in card (as defined by the PCI Express Card Electromechanical Specification) and a PCI Express Mini Card add-in card is a unique card form factor optimized for mobile computing platforms and a card-system interconnection optimized for communication applications. Specifically, PCI Express Mini Card add-in cards are smaller and have smaller connectors than standard PCI Express add-in cards.

The review period for the PCIe 2.0 Mini Card Electromechanical Specification Revision 0.9 will end at 5 p.m. (PT) on Friday, March 23, 2012. Any feedback should be sent to administration@pcisig.com.
